Greetings,
We come before You in awe of who You are... ✝️

Unpacking the Message of Psalm 90:2
Psalm 90:2 draws our attention to the eternal nature of God and places human life in its proper perspective. When the psalm declares that before the mountains were born or the world was brought forth, God already existed, it reminds us that God is not part of creation—He is the Creator. Everything we see, touch, and experience had a beginning, but God stands outside of time, untouched by its limits. This truth immediately sets Him apart as holy, sovereign, and worthy of our deepest reverence.
The imagery of mountains being “born” emphasizes stability, strength, and permanence from a human point of view. Mountains are among the most enduring features of the natural world, yet even they are described as coming into existence after God. This comparison humbles us, showing that what we consider ancient and unmovable is still younger than the God who spoke it into being. It invites us to trust God as the true foundation of all things, far more reliable than anything created.
Psalm 90 is traditionally attributed to Moses, a man who witnessed both the power of God and the fragility of human life. Against the backdrop of wandering in the wilderness and seeing generations rise and fall, this verse contrasts the brevity of human existence with God’s eternal presence. While people are born, age, and die, God remains constant. This contrast encourages humility and reminds us that our lives find meaning only when anchored in Him.
The phrase “from everlasting to everlasting” expands our understanding of God’s nature beyond human comprehension. God does not simply live forever from this point forward; He has always existed and always will. There was never a moment when God was not, and there will never be a moment when He ceases to be. This eternal existence assures us that God is not surprised by history, nor is He threatened by the future.
This verse also offers profound comfort. In a world where change is constant and loss is inevitable, knowing that God is eternal provides stability for the soul. Relationships shift, circumstances change, and even nations rise and fall, but God remains the same. His promises are not temporary, and His faithfulness does not expire. Believers can rest in the assurance that the God they trust today will still be God tomorrow and forever.
Psalm 90:2 also invites us to see God as the ultimate source of life. Since He existed before creation, everything that has life flows from Him. This truth aligns with the New Testament revelation of Jesus Christ, through whom all things were made and in whom all things hold together. The eternal God who created the world is the same God who stepped into history to redeem it.

The verse challenges human pride by reminding us of our limitations. Modern culture often emphasizes human achievement, progress, and control, yet Psalm 90:2 gently exposes the illusion of self-sufficiency. Compared to God’s eternity, human accomplishments are fleeting. This realization is not meant to diminish us, but to redirect us toward dependence on God, who alone is everlasting.
There is also an invitation to worship embedded in this verse. Recognizing God’s eternal nature naturally leads to awe and praise. Worship becomes the appropriate response to a God who transcends time and creation. When we worship, we align our hearts with the truth that God is greater than our fears, our failures, and our finite understanding.
Psalm 90:2 further shapes how believers view time. Since God stands outside of time, He sees the whole story at once. This gives us confidence that our lives are not random or meaningless. Even when we cannot see how our present struggles fit into God’s plan, we can trust that the eternal God is weaving every moment into His greater purpose.
This verse also encourages patience and faith in seasons of waiting. Because God is eternal, He is never rushed. His timing is perfect, even when it feels slow to us. Trusting an everlasting God helps us release anxiety about outcomes and rest in His wisdom, knowing that He is not bound by the urgency we often feel.
Ultimately, Psalm 90:2 reminds us that our hope must be placed in something greater than ourselves. Wealth fades, strength weakens, and life itself is temporary, but God remains forever. For the believer, this truth finds its fullest expression in Jesus Christ, who reveals the eternal God and offers eternal life to all who trust in Him.
In declaring that God is from everlasting to everlasting, Psalm 90:2 anchors the soul in unshakable truth. It calls us to humility, trust, worship, and hope. When we fix our hearts on the eternal God, our lives gain perspective, our faith grows stronger, and our souls find rest in the One who was, who is, and who will always be God.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!
