The central element in this protection is God’s faithfulness. It is not the believer’s strength, wisdom, or effort that serves as protection, but God’s consistent and unchanging nature. His faithfulness means that He keeps His promises, remains present, and acts according to His word. This is the true source of security.
Psalm 91:4 also addresses the human tendency toward fear. Life presents many uncertainties and threats, both visible and unseen.
