Greetings,
"... To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." ✝️

Unpacking the Message of Micah 6:8
Micah 6:8 is one of the clearest and most practical summaries of what God desires from His people. The prophet writes, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” These words were spoken to people who believed that elaborate religious rituals could compensate for disobedient hearts. Through Micah, God makes it clear that what He desires most is not outward performance but inward transformation expressed through everyday living.
The phrase “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good” reminds believers that God has never hidden His will from those who sincerely seek Him. He has revealed His character through His Word, His covenant, His works throughout history, and ultimately through Jesus Christ. Humanity is not left to invent its own definition of goodness. God Himself has graciously shown what pleases Him.
The words “O mortal” are a gentle reminder of humanity's limitations. Human beings are finite, dependent, and incapable of determining truth apart from God. This expression calls believers to humility, recognizing that wisdom is found not in trusting themselves but in trusting the One who created them. It encourages a posture of dependence rather than self-sufficiency.
The question, “What does the Lord require of you?” invites personal reflection. God is not asking because He lacks information. He is inviting every believer to examine the condition of their heart. This verse shifts attention away from religious appearances and toward the daily attitudes and actions that reveal genuine faith.
The first requirement is “to act justly.” Justice reflects God's own righteous character. Acting justly means living with honesty, integrity, fairness, and compassion. It involves treating every person with dignity because every individual is created in the image of God. Justice is not limited to major public issues; it is practiced through truthful speech, ethical decisions, faithful work, and defending what is right in everyday life.
The second requirement is “to love mercy.” God does not simply ask His people to show mercy occasionally; He calls them to love it. Mercy reflects His compassionate heart. It chooses forgiveness over revenge, kindness over cruelty, and grace over condemnation. Believers who have personally experienced God's mercy become people who willingly extend mercy to others.
Loving mercy also requires remembering how much mercy has already been received. No believer stands before God because of personal merit. Every follower of Christ has been forgiven through His grace. That awareness removes pride and creates a heart that is patient, compassionate, and willing to forgive those who fail.

Anna, Brian and myself are blessed to provide a beautiful family with support due to the tragic passing of the husband, father of 3 and sole household income producer. This young family is in need of some continual support. So at this time we're reaching out to see if you could spare a few bucks to help aligning the foundation for future support. ❤️

Our faithful and gracious donors have helped make ALL this possible!!!

The third requirement is “to walk humbly with your God.” Walking implies an ongoing relationship rather than an isolated religious experience. God is inviting believers into daily fellowship with Him. Humility means recognizing God's greatness, submitting to His leadership, and depending upon His wisdom instead of relying on personal understanding.
Walking humbly also means remaining teachable. Proud hearts resist correction and seek independence, while humble hearts gladly receive God's instruction. Believers who walk humbly acknowledge that they continually need God's grace, guidance, and transforming work within their lives.
These three commands are inseparable. Justice without mercy becomes harsh legalism. Mercy without justice becomes compromise. Neither can exist properly without humility before God. Together they reveal a balanced life that reflects the heart of the Father. A believer who walks closely with God naturally grows in justice, mercy, and humility because these qualities are rooted in God's own character.
Micah 6:8 also points directly to Jesus Christ, who perfectly fulfilled every part of this command. Jesus acted with perfect justice, always doing what was right before the Father. He loved mercy by welcoming sinners, healing the broken, and forgiving those who came to Him in repentance. He walked in perfect humility, willingly submitting Himself to the Father's will even to the point of death on the cross. In Christ, believers not only see the perfect example of this verse but also receive the power to live it through the Holy Spirit.
The verse challenges modern believers to examine what truly defines their spiritual lives. God is not primarily impressed by outward religious activity, public recognition, or impressive accomplishments. He is looking for hearts that reflect His character. Genuine faith becomes visible through honesty, compassion, humility, and faithful obedience in ordinary daily life.
Ultimately, Micah 6:8 reminds believers that following God is not about complicated formulas or extraordinary achievements. It is about faithfully reflecting His heart wherever He has placed them. Every interaction, decision, conversation, and opportunity becomes a chance to live out justice, extend mercy, and walk humbly with Him.
In the end, this verse is an invitation into a life of joyful surrender. God has already shown what is good, and through Jesus Christ He has made it possible for believers to live that way. As they act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God, they become living testimonies of His grace, reflecting His heart to a world that desperately needs to know Him.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!

Micah 6:8 is about what it truly looks like to live a life that pleases God every single day.
“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
This verse strips away the idea that God is primarily impressed by religious appearances, impressive accomplishments, or outward performance.
Instead, He points us toward three qualities that should shape every area of our lives:
• justice
• mercy
• humility
These are not occasional actions.
They are a lifestyle.
If you don't apply this verse, you may:
• become outwardly religious but inwardly unchanged
• focus more on appearances than character
• drift toward pride or selfishness
• miss the heart of God's calling
If you do apply it, you will:
• reflect the character of Jesus
• build healthier relationships
• grow in spiritual maturity
• become more compassionate
• walk in closer fellowship with God
This verse is about becoming the kind of person whose life reflects God's heart every day.
1. Ask yourself whether your faith is changing your character
God is interested in who you are becoming.
Journal Prompt:
How has my relationship with Jesus changed my character over the past year?
Am I becoming:
• more patient?
• more forgiving?
• more honest?
• more compassionate?
• more humble?
Application:
Measure spiritual growth by character, not activity.
2. Practice justice in ordinary moments
Justice begins long before major decisions.
Journal Prompt:
Where can I practice fairness and integrity today?
Consider:
• work
• family
• finances
• conversations
• commitments
Application:
Choose honesty even when dishonesty would benefit you.
God notices integrity in small things.
3. Learn to genuinely love mercy
God doesn't simply say:
"Show mercy."
He says:
"Love mercy."
Journal Prompt:
How do I usually respond when someone disappoints or hurts me?
Application:
Choose compassion before criticism.
Remember how much mercy God has already shown you.
4. Stop keeping score
Mercy does not keep a record of every offense.
Journal Prompt:
Is there someone whose mistakes I continue replaying in my mind?
Application:
Release the scorecard.
Forgiveness often begins with refusing to relive the offense.
5. Walk humbly every day
Humility is not thinking less of yourself.
It is thinking of yourself less often.
Journal Prompt:
Where does pride quietly influence my decisions?
Perhaps through:
• needing recognition
• always being right
• refusing correction
• comparing yourself to others
Application:
Practice saying:
"Lord, Your wisdom is greater than mine."
6. Depend on God instead of yourself
Walking humbly means walking closely.
Journal Prompt:
Am I relying more on my own abilities or God's strength?
Application:
Invite God into every decision—not just major ones.
Develop continual dependence.
7. Let your relationships reflect God's heart
Justice, mercy, and humility all become visible in relationships.
Journal Prompt:
Which relationship currently needs more grace from me?
Application:
Practice:
• listening
• patience
• encouragement
• forgiveness
• kindness
8. Choose faithfulness over recognition
God sees what people never notice.
Journal Prompt:
Would I continue doing what is right if no one ever recognized it?
Application:
Faithfulness matters more than visibility.
Your audience is ultimately God.
9. Examine your motives regularly
Outward obedience without inward humility becomes empty religion.
Journal Prompt:
Why do I do the things I do?
Am I seeking:
• God's glory?
or
• human approval?
Application:
Ask before serving:
"Who am I trying to please?"
10. End each day reflecting on God's three priorities
Daily Reflection:
Did I act justly today?
Did I love mercy today?
Did I walk humbly with God today?
Where did I succeed?
Where is God inviting me to grow tomorrow?
Then pray:
"Lord, continue shaping my heart to reflect Yours."
Final Truth
Micah 6:8 teaches this:
God is not asking you to impress Him.
He is inviting you to become more like Him.
Every day you have opportunities to:
• choose justice over compromise
• choose mercy over resentment
• choose humility over pride
And as you consistently make those choices, your life begins to reflect Jesus Christ more clearly.
The Christian life is not built upon extraordinary moments.
It is built through ordinary acts of faithfulness lived one day at a time.
When you act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God, you are not simply obeying a command—you are displaying the very heart of the One who has loved, forgiven, and faithfully walked with you every step of your life.

Closing thoughts as we pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the clarity and beauty of Your Word. In a world filled with confusion about what truly matters, You have shown us what is good. You have not left us guessing about how You desire us to live. Through Your Word and through Jesus Christ, You have revealed the kind of heart that pleases You—a heart that acts justly, loves mercy, and walks humbly with You.
Lord, teach us to act justly in every area of our lives. Help us to be people of honesty, integrity, and fairness. Give us the courage to stand for what is right, even when it is unpopular or difficult. Guard us from selfishness, prejudice, and compromise, and help us treat every person with the dignity and respect they deserve as those created in Your image.
Jesus, thank You for perfectly demonstrating justice and mercy throughout Your earthly life. You stood for truth without abandoning compassion. You confronted sin while extending forgiveness. Help us follow Your example by loving others with grace while remaining faithful to Your truth.
Holy Spirit, create within us hearts that genuinely love mercy. Teach us to forgive as we have been forgiven, to show compassion instead of condemnation, and to extend kindness even when it is undeserved. Remove bitterness, pride, resentment, and judgment from our hearts. Fill us instead with patience, gentleness, and a sincere desire to reflect the mercy You have shown us through Christ.
Father, teach us to walk humbly with You every day. Protect us from pride, self-reliance, and the desire for recognition. Help us remember that every blessing we possess comes from Your gracious hand. May we depend upon You in every decision, seek Your wisdom before our own, and remain teachable as You continue shaping us into the likeness of Jesus.
Help us understand that walking humbly with You is not simply an occasional spiritual activity but a daily relationship. May we seek Your presence each morning, trust You throughout each day, and surrender every part of our lives to Your loving leadership. Let our greatest desire be to know You more deeply and to glorify You in all that we do.
Lord, may our lives become living testimonies of Your transforming grace. Let justice guide our actions, mercy shape our relationships, and humility define our walk with You. May people see Christ reflected in our character, our decisions, and our love for others.
Thank You for loving us first, forgiving us completely, and patiently teaching us to live according to Your will. Strengthen our faith each day so that we may become faithful followers of Jesus Christ who honor You with both our words and our lives.
In the mighty and compassionate name of Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏🏻
