Greetings,
God Knows What We Cannot See
"He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him." — Daniel 2:22
Unpacking the Message of Daniel 2:22
This verse from Daniel 2:22, “He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him,” opens a vast door for us to reflect on the profound nature of God’s wisdom, the limitations of human understanding, and the comfort that comes from knowing we serve a God who sees what we cannot. Daniel spoke these words in a moment of great pressure—when the king demanded the interpretation of a dream that no human could understand. Yet Daniel knew that what is impossible for man is possible with God, for He alone reveals mysteries and exposes what is hidden in the dark.
When we think about the phrase “deep and hidden things,” it invites us to consider the reality that life is full of complexities that go beyond our ability to reason. We may strive for understanding, we may analyze circumstances, and we may rely on experience, but there will always be mysteries that remain beyond human grasp. God, however, sees all things with perfect clarity. He knows not only the surface of situations but also their hidden layers, the motives of hearts, the unseen spiritual realities at work, and the purposes He is weaving together behind the scenes. This is both humbling and liberating, because it reminds us that we don’t need to carry the burden of figuring everything out. Instead, we can trust the One who already knows the outcome before we even perceive the problem.
The second part of the verse, “he knows what lies in darkness,” carries two implications. On one hand, it is a warning: nothing is hidden from God. The sins, injustices, and secret schemes of people are not veiled to Him. Even if wickedness appears to thrive under the cover of secrecy, God sees it, and in His time, He will bring everything into the light. On the other hand, it is also a promise of protection and comfort for those who belong to Him. Whatever darkness you may be walking through—whether it’s uncertainty, fear, grief, or confusion—God is not absent in it. He knows exactly what you are facing, and His presence ensures that you are not lost in that darkness.
The final phrase, “light dwells with him,” is an incredible reassurance. Light in Scripture often symbolizes truth, purity, and guidance. To say that light dwells with God is to declare that He is the very source of illumination for our path. In moments where our vision is clouded, His light is what enables us to see clearly. When the darkness of the world threatens to overwhelm us, His light cannot be extinguished. This light not only reveals the truth but also restores hope. To dwell in God’s presence is to have access to that light, and as His children, we are invited to carry His light into the world so that others might find clarity, healing, and truth in Him.

Reflecting on this verse also challenges us to consider where we turn when we face situations we do not understand. Do we rely only on our own reasoning, or do we humbly seek the One who reveals mysteries? Daniel did not claim to possess wisdom on his own; he acknowledged God as the sole source of revelation. In our own lives, that might mean pausing in prayer before making decisions, inviting the Holy Spirit to give discernment, and trusting that God will uncover what needs to be revealed in His perfect timing.
There is also a relational aspect here. God reveals deep and hidden things to those who walk closely with Him. This isn’t about having secret knowledge for our own pride but about being in a relationship where God entrusts us with insight because He knows we will use it to glorify Him. Just as He gave Daniel the interpretation of the king’s dream, He desires to guide us in the personal mysteries we face—whether that’s a difficult relationship, a challenging circumstance, or an uncertain future.
Ultimately, this verse reminds us that we do not need to fear the unknown. Life’s mysteries, injustices, and dark valleys are not beyond God’s sight. He is the Revealer, the Knower, and the Dweller of Light. If we anchor ourselves in Him, we can rest with assurance that what is hidden will be uncovered in His timing, and His light will guide us through every shadowed path.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!

Closing thoughts as we pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Dear Beloved in Christ,
God Knows What We Cannot See 🌟
Life often leaves us with unanswered questions and unseen battles.
But Scripture reminds us of something powerful:
"He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him." — Daniel 2:22
What we cannot see, God already knows. What confuses us, He understands. What overwhelms us, He has already conquered.
His light is not dimmed by the darkness of this world—it shines brighter than any shadow.
Be encouraged today: the God you serve is not limited by what you don’t understand.
Trust Him to reveal in His perfect timing what you need to know, and rest in the fact that His light will guide your steps.
Walk with confidence. Walk with His light.
In Christ 🙏🏻
