Breaking Down Crude Oil Futures


Let's dissect our recent analysis of crude oil futures. We successfully predicted several key movements in the market, including a push into $80 followed by a strong reversal.


Here's how we did it:


  1. Identifying Key Levels: We marked crucial levels on the chart, such as the low at $78.80 and the rolling VWAP (Volume Weighted Average Price). These levels provided a framework for our expectations.

  2. Volume Analysis: Heavy selling volume at the base of the candle indicated a potential reversal. This was confirmed when the market started absorbing this volume and pushing back up.

  3. Higher Lows and Higher Highs: By observing higher lows and higher highs, we deduced a bullish trend. This pattern of higher lows suggested that the market was poised to move higher, which it did, reaching the $80 mark.


Understanding Market Context


Market context is essential. For instance, at $80, we observed the highest buying volume of the session, but the candle closed at its midpoint.


This indicated absorption of buying pressure and suggested a potential reversal.


Sure enough, the market failed to sustain above $80 and moved significantly lower, confirming our analysis.
