Greetings,
The Rain Comes in Its Season 🌧️
“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.” — Leviticus 26:3–4

Unpacking the Message of Leviticus 26:3–4
This verse from Leviticus 26:3–4 is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness to His covenant promises, and of the divine order that exists between obedience and blessing. It’s not merely about agricultural rain—it’s about spiritual rain, divine provision, and the rhythm of obedience that positions us to receive what Heaven desires to pour out.
When God says, “If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands,” He is revealing a principle that is consistent throughout Scripture: obedience opens the door to blessing. This isn’t legalism or earning God’s favor; rather, it’s alignment with divine purpose. Just as a farmer must till the soil before the rain can nourish it, our obedience prepares our hearts to receive the outpouring of God’s presence and provision. Disobedience is like unplowed ground—hard, resistant, unable to absorb what God is trying to give.
The phrase, “I will send you rain in its season,” speaks to God’s perfect timing. The rain doesn’t come on our schedule but on His. Sometimes we want immediate results for our obedience, instant fruit for our faithfulness—but God reminds us that growth takes time. Just as rain comes at appointed times to sustain crops through their natural cycle, blessings come when our hearts are ready and the timing fulfills God’s purpose. It’s not a question of if the rain will come, but when. The waiting season is not a punishment; it’s preparation. Every drought teaches us to value the rain more deeply and to trust that God’s timing is never late.
The promise continues: “The ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.” This imagery captures the outcome of a life lived in alignment with God. When we live under His direction, fruitfulness follows. The ground symbolizes our daily work, relationships, and responsibilities. The trees represent the long-term growth that comes from consistent faithfulness. Some blessings are immediate—the “crops” that grow in one season—while others are enduring—the “trees” that take years to mature and bear fruit. God’s rain sustains both.
We must also see that the rain isn’t just physical—it’s spiritual. The Holy Spirit is often depicted in Scripture as rain, refreshing dry places and bringing life where there was none. When our hearts are tender toward God, His Spirit flows freely. But when we harden our hearts, the rain runs off, never penetrating the soil. That’s why daily obedience—prayer, repentance, forgiveness, humility—is vital. These practices keep our spiritual soil soft, receptive to the Spirit’s work. In that condition, even a small drizzle of God’s presence produces tremendous growth.

This verse challenges us to ask: Am I living in a way that welcomes God’s rain? Am I walking in obedience, not out of fear, but out of love and trust? Obedience is not about perfection—it’s about direction. It’s choosing daily to follow His decrees, to align your actions, speech, and heart with His Word. And when you do, you’re positioning yourself under the open heaven of God’s promises.
It’s also worth reflecting on the phrase “in its season.” Seasons of rain imply seasons of dryness, too. There will be times when the soil of your life feels barren, when prayers seem unanswered, and progress feels slow. But those are not wasted seasons. God uses the dry times to deepen our roots, to strengthen our faith, and to prepare us for the abundance to come. Faithfulness in the dry season is what qualifies us for fruitfulness in the next. When the rain does come, it finds a heart that’s learned to depend on God and not circumstances.
The harvest—the yield of the crops and the fruit of the trees—also reminds us that obedience benefits more than ourselves. When God sends rain on your life, others are blessed by your fruit. Your patience produces encouragement for someone else. Your generosity sustains another in need. Your forgiveness opens a door for reconciliation. God’s blessings are never meant to stop with us—they’re meant to flow through us. That’s what it means to walk in covenant relationship with Him. The rain He sends is not just to keep you alive—it’s to make you fruitful for His Kingdom.
In our modern lives, this verse speaks into the areas where we feel dry—emotionally, spiritually, financially, or relationally. The temptation is to force results in our own strength, to dig our own wells when Heaven seems silent. But God calls us back to simple obedience and steadfast faith. When we honor His commands, when we walk with integrity, when we forgive even when it’s hard, when we trust His timing, we are cultivating the conditions for divine rain.
You might be in a season right now where the soil looks barren and the clouds seem distant. But take heart—God is faithful. He has already appointed your season of rain. Keep tending your soil. Keep sowing seeds of faith, prayer, and obedience. Keep your heart open and your hope alive. The rain will come, and when it does, it will not be a drizzle—it will be a downpour of grace that brings forth everything God promised you.
In the end, Leviticus 26:3–4 is not a transaction—it’s an invitation. It’s God saying, “Walk with Me, trust Me, and I will make your life fruitful in due time.” So, let your obedience be steady, your faith unshakable, and your heart expectant. Because when you live in alignment with the Lord, even the waiting seasons are soaked with purpose—and the rain that follows will always reveal His goodness.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!

Here’s our 7-day journaling plan designed to beautifully accompany your sermon “When the Rain Comes: Living in Expectation of God’s Faithful Seasons” - Leviticus 26:3–4.
This plan blends daily Scripture reflections, journaling prompts, prayer focus, and a simple “rest practice” to help the reader slow down, listen for God, and stay spiritually rooted while waiting for their season of rain...
“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.” — Leviticus 26:3–4
Day 1 — Preparing the Soil
Focus: Obedience softens the heart for blessing.
Reflection: Just like the farmer tills the ground before planting, God asks us to prepare our hearts through obedience. Where might your soil need softening—bitterness, pride, fear, or distraction?
Journaling Prompt: What area of my life is God asking me to surrender or obey more fully right now? What would “preparing my soil” look like today?
Prayer Prompt: “Lord, help me to obey You not out of duty but out of love. Make my heart tender and ready for Your rain.”
Rest Practice: Take five quiet minutes today to sit in silence before God. Ask Him to reveal any area that needs His touch.
Day 2 — Trusting the Timing
Focus: Rain comes in its season.
Reflection: We often grow restless when God’s promises don’t arrive on our timeline. Yet divine timing is always perfect. Waiting is not wasted—it’s working.
Journaling Prompt: What “season” am I in right now? What might God be growing in me during this waiting period?
Prayer Prompt: “Father, teach me to trust Your timing. Help me to see delay as development.”
Rest Practice: Go for a short walk outside. Notice the rhythm of creation—how everything happens in seasons. Let it remind you that your life is no different.
Day 3 — Sowing in Faith
Focus: Seeds of obedience bring harvest later.
Reflection: Even when we can’t see immediate results, every act of obedience plants a seed. Faithfulness is never wasted.
Journaling Prompt: What “seeds” can I sow today—acts of love, forgiveness, prayer, or service—that will prepare me for future fruit?
Prayer Prompt: “Lord, give me faith to sow today even when I don’t see tomorrow’s harvest.”
Rest Practice: Write down one act of kindness or obedience you can do today. Do it quietly, without recognition, as a seed of faith.
Day 4 — Waiting with Expectation
Focus: Faith is active anticipation.
Reflection: Elijah kept praying for rain even when the sky was clear. Expectation is faith in action—it says, “I believe God will come through.”
Journaling Prompt: How can I shift from frustration to expectation in this season? Where have I stopped believing God will move?
Prayer Prompt: “God, stir up faith within me. Help me to pray with expectation, not exhaustion.”
Rest Practice: Take 10 deep breaths. With each one, whisper: “God, I trust You.” Feel peace rise as you release control.
Day 5 — Receiving the Rain
Focus: God’s blessings refresh and restore.
Reflection: When the rain finally comes, it nourishes the dry ground. Sometimes the rain looks like answered prayer; other times, it’s peace, healing, or clarity.
Journaling Prompt: Where have I seen God’s rain recently—signs of His faithfulness, favor, or presence? How can I celebrate them today?
Prayer Prompt: “Thank You, Lord, for the rain You’ve already sent and the rain still on its way.”
Rest Practice: Play a worship song about God’s faithfulness. Let gratitude wash over you like rain.
Day 6 — Bearing Fruit
Focus: Obedience produces visible and invisible fruit.
Reflection: The harvest that follows rain isn’t just for us—it blesses others. Fruit is meant to be shared.
Journaling Prompt: What fruit has obedience produced in my life so far—peace, patience, generosity, wisdom? How can I share that fruit with others?
Prayer Prompt: “Lord, make my life fruitful for Your glory. Let my obedience be nourishment to those around me.”
Rest Practice: Spend a few minutes thanking God for one person who has blessed you. Then reach out and bless them in return—a word, text, or prayer.
Day 7 — Living Under Open Heaven
Focus: God’s rain is a reminder of His covenant.
Reflection: The same God who promised rain to Israel promises to pour His Spirit into your life. You live under an open heaven when you walk in His ways.
Journaling Prompt: How can I stay rooted in obedience and expectancy daily? What practices will help me remain open to His rain all year long?
Prayer Prompt: “Father, thank You for being faithful in every season. Keep me walking closely with You, living ready for Your next downpour.”
Rest Practice: End your journaling week with Sabbath rest. Take 15 minutes of quiet gratitude—no requests, no to-do’s—just resting in God’s presence.
🌿 Closing Thought for the Week
When the soil of your heart is prepared, obedience becomes joy. When your heart stays expectant, even dry ground feels holy. And when the rain comes, it will be worth every moment of waiting.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”— Galatians 6:9

Closing thoughts as we pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Dear Beloved in Christ,
The Rain Comes in Its Season 🌧️
God’s promises are not random—they’re rhythmic. Just as the rain falls in its appointed season, so does His blessing flow when we walk in alignment with His Word.
Scripture reminds us:
“If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit.” — Leviticus 26:3–4
Obedience may not always be easy, but it positions us under the open heavens of God’s provision. When we walk faithfully—when we trust His timing and His way—the “rain” comes right on schedule.
The fruit of peace, joy, and abundance begins to grow where there was once dry ground.
If you’re in a waiting season, don’t lose heart. Keep sowing in faith, keep walking in obedience, and trust that God will send the rain at just the right time.
Your faithfulness today prepares the harvest tomorrow. 🌿
Standing firm with you 🙏🏻
