Greetings,
Let Your Words Reflect His Righteousness
There is a quiet but powerful truth tucked inside Proverbs 10:32 -
“The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.”

Unpacking the Message of Proverbs 10:32
Proverbs 10:32 says, “The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.” At first glance, this verse looks like a simple contrast between righteous speech and wicked speech, but when we pause long enough to sit with it, we discover a powerful truth woven into every part of our daily lives. Scripture reminds us over and over that the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart, and here Solomon ties our speech directly to the kind of life we are cultivating inside. The righteous “know” what finds favor—not because they are guessing, not because they are trying to imitate holiness, but because something in them has been shaped and trained by God. Their lips naturally move toward favor because their hearts have been molded by truth.
This reveals something about spiritual growth: righteousness is not merely a behavior but a formation. The more we walk with God, the more His Word forms what we think, feel, and desire. Speech becomes a thermometer of the soul. You can often tell where someone stands spiritually not by watching their actions first, but by listening to how they talk. Words flow directly from the inner life, and God is saying through Solomon that a righteous person doesn’t just speak kindly—they speak favorably because their heart understands God’s ways. It’s not forced. It’s not artificial. It’s fruit produced from a transformed root.
The other half of the verse highlights the opposite. The mouth of the wicked “only” what is perverse. That’s a sobering word—only. Without the Spirit of God, without the renewing of the mind, without the transforming grace of Christ, the natural tendency of human speech is to drift toward perversion. It leans toward tearing down rather than building up, toward negativity rather than blessing, toward self-centeredness rather than God-centeredness. This isn't merely about profanity or crude humor; it’s about an entire posture of speech that opposes the heart of God. Words rooted in pride, gossip, slander, exaggeration, deception, bitterness, or cynicism—these are all forms of perverse speech that Scripture says flow from an unredeemed heart.
This verse pushes us to examine ourselves honestly. What tone shapes our conversations? What habits govern the words we use when we are frustrated, tired, or alone? What language spills out when we feel wronged, or when we are trying to impress someone, or when we’re under pressure? It’s easy to look righteous when we’re in spiritual settings, but righteous lips are revealed most clearly in private moments and heated moments. That’s when the truth about our hearts is exposed.
Solomon’s words also carry a message of hope. This verse isn’t meant to condemn believers but to call us upward. It reminds us that God is deeply interested in our speech because He is deeply interested in our hearts. When we invite God to transform our inner life, our outer words begin to shift naturally. As we immerse ourselves in Scripture, the vocabulary of heaven slowly replaces the vocabulary of the flesh. Words of life, encouragement, wisdom, patience, and truth begin to dominate. We start speaking in ways that reflect Jesus—ways that lift others, bring healing, and honor God.

Another beautiful truth emerges here: righteousness gives us discernment. The verse says the lips of the righteous know what finds favor. This means that the closer we walk with God, the more we intuitively sense what is right to say. We become sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s nudges—when to speak and when to stay silent, when to confront with grace, when to encourage with boldness, when to correct gently, when to bless publicly, and when to pray privately. Favor-filled speech is not accidental; it’s Spirit-led.
This principle applies powerfully in relationships. Words can build bridges or burn them down. Righteous speech strengthens marriages, comforts children, deepens friendships, and stabilizes communities. It draws people toward Christ. Meanwhile, perverse speech erodes trust, fuels conflict, and distances people from God and from each other. Solomon is reminding us that our words are not neutral; they carry spiritual weight. There is no such thing as a harmless negative tongue. Every word carries power—life or death, blessing or curse.
This verse also challenges us to evaluate what we allow to shape our speech. The world is saturated with perverse communication—sarcasm marketed as humor, outrage presented as entertainment, slander disguised as news, and pride celebrated as confidence. If we aren’t careful, we begin to mirror what we consume. But the righteous anchor themselves in God’s Word, and because of that, their speech stands out. It becomes a light in dark places, a calm in chaotic spaces, and a testimony in a cynical culture.
Ultimately, Proverbs 10:32 calls us not only to watch our words but to cultivate righteousness within. Changing speech begins with changing the heart. Asking God daily to purify our thoughts, refine our motives, and align our desires with His will naturally transforms the way we communicate. The more we become like Jesus internally, the more our words will sound like Jesus externally.
The verse ends with a clear divide: righteous lips vs. wicked mouths. But for the believer, this isn’t a threat—it’s an invitation. It’s God extending His hand and saying, “Let Me shape your heart so deeply that your words carry My favor everywhere you go.” Our speech becomes a vessel of grace, a channel of truth, a spark of encouragement, and a sign of God’s presence in us.
When people hear us talk—casually or intentionally—they should feel the fragrance of Christ. They should hear hope, truth, peace, wisdom, humility, and strength. They should sense that our words carry weight because our heart carries His Spirit. Proverbs 10:32 isn’t just a verse about speech; it’s a verse about identity. It reminds us that the righteous don’t merely choose better words—they become people through whom better words naturally flow.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!

DAY 1 — The Heart–Speech Connection
Opening Prayer: Lord, quiet my heart as I come before You. Help me see what is truly within me so that I may understand how my words reflect my soul. Shine Your light into the places that need healing and transformation. Amen.
Theme: Your words reveal your inner world.
Reflection Prompt: Reflect on moments when your words recently revealed your emotions, fears, or frustrations. What did your speech expose about your heart’s condition?
Journaling Questions: What situations tend to bring out the best in my speech?• What situations bring out the worst?• What does this show me about what God is shaping—or still healing—within me?
Practice: Sit in silence for 2 minutes. Ask God to help you see your heart clearly.
Closing Prayer: Father, thank You for revealing truth to my heart today. Shape my inner life so that my words bring You honor. Teach me to speak from a place of purity, peace, and love. Amen.
DAY 2 — What “Favor” Sounds Like
Opening Prayer: Lord, open my ears to recognize what speech pleases You. Fill my heart with grace so that my lips naturally reflect Your favor. Let this time draw me closer to Your heart. Amen.
Theme: Righteous speech isn’t forced—it flows.
Reflection Prompt: Think about someone in your life who speaks with grace, gentleness, or spiritual wisdom. What qualities do you hear in their voice?
Journaling Questions:• How do I define “favor-filled speech”?• What words, tones, or attitudes reflect God’s heart?• In what ways does my speech already resemble this?
Practice: Speak one intentional word of encouragement today.
Closing Prayer: God, thank You for teaching me what favor-filled speech looks like. Seal these insights in my spirit and help me carry them into every conversation today. Amen.
DAY 3 — The Perils of Perverse Speech
Opening Prayer: Holy Spirit, search my heart and reveal any patterns of speech that are not aligned with You. Give me the courage to face them honestly and the strength to release them. Amen.
Theme: Perverse speech is anything twisted away from God’s heart—whether subtle or obvious.
Reflection Prompt: Reflect on the kinds of speech that Scripture identifies as harmful: gossip, slander, cynicism, complaining, harshness, exaggeration, deception.
Journaling Questions:• Which of these tempt me most?• What usually triggers them?• How have these habits affected relationships or the atmosphere around me?
Practice: Notice your words for one full hour today—no judgment, just awareness.
Closing Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your gentle correction. Cleanse my lips, renew my mind, and train my tongue to reject anything that does not reflect Your righteousness. Amen.
DAY 4 — Training the Tongue Through the Word
Opening Prayer: Father, as I seek Your Word, fill me with truth that reshapes my thoughts and transforms my speech. Let Scripture become the foundation for everything I say. Amen.
Theme: Righteous lips form through righteous intake.
Reflection Prompt: Your speech mirrors whatever fills your mind. Scripture renews, re-anchors, and retrains the soul.
Journaling Questions:• What am I feeding my heart daily—media, voices, influences?• How does this affect my language, tone, and thought patterns?• What Scriptures can I begin meditating on to reshape my speech?
Practice: Write down one verse you want to memorize about godly speech.
Closing Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for feeding my spirit with Your truth. Help me meditate on Your Word throughout the day and let it govern my words and actions. Amen.
DAY 5 — Becoming Spirit-Led in Conversation
Opening Prayer: Holy Spirit, I welcome You into this moment. Tune my heart to Your voice so I may learn to speak when You prompt and stay silent when You lead me to hold my tongue. Amen.
Theme: The Holy Spirit teaches us when to speak and when to stay silent.
Reflection Prompt: Consider any recent moment where you felt a nudge to hold your tongue—or to say something loving or truthful.
Journaling Questions:• Did I follow the Spirit’s prompting? Why or why not?• How can I cultivate a greater sensitivity to those quiet nudges?• What does Spirit-led speech look like in my relationships?
Practice: Before each conversation today, whisper: “Holy Spirit, guide my words.”
Closing Prayer: Lord, thank You for drawing me closer to Your Spirit’s guidance. Help me walk through this day with sensitivity, humility, and obedience in every conversation. Amen.

Practice: Send a message of blessing to one person today.
Closing Prayer: Father, thank You for reminding me of the power my words hold. Use my voice to bring life to others and help me speak blessings that reflect Your love. Amen.
DAY 7 — Becoming a Person of Favor-Filled Speech
Opening Prayer: Lord, prepare my heart for reflection today. As I look back on this journey, reveal the growth, the challenges, and the calling You are placing before me. Form me into a person whose words consistently honor You. Amen.
Theme: Righteous speech becomes a lifestyle, not a task.
Reflection Prompt: Look back over the week. Pay attention to patterns, challenges, and victories.

Practice: Write a short prayer asking God to shape your heart so deeply that your words naturally carry His favor.
Closing Prayer: God of grace, thank You for this week of transformation. Continue shaping my heart so deeply that my words naturally flow with favor, truth, and love. Let my speech glorify You every day. Amen.

Closing thoughts as we pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Dear Beloved in Christ,
Let Your Words Reflect His Righteousness
There is a quiet but powerful truth tucked inside Proverbs 10:32 - “The lips of the righteous know what finds favor, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.”
Scripture reminds us that our words reveal the condition of our hearts.
When we walk closely with God—when His Spirit shapes our thoughts and attitudes—our speech naturally reflects His character.
We speak life instead of harm. We build up instead of tear down. We choose truth over exaggeration, encouragement over criticism, and purity over corruption.
This verse isn’t merely about avoiding sinful speech; it’s about cultivating the kind of inner life that produces righteous words.
Words that carry grace. Words that reflect Jesus. Words that bring favor wherever we go.
Today, lean into the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Ask Him to shape not just your language, but your heart—because when the heart is right, the words will follow.
May your lips speak what honors God and lifts up those around you.
Blessings 🙏🏻
