Greetings,
It's Faith That Opens the Door
“So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?” — Galatians 3:5

Unpacking the Message of Verse Galatians 3:5
Galatians 3:5 poses a powerful and deeply theological question that invites us to consider the very foundation of our relationship with God. Paul writes, “So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?” This verse challenges the listener to reflect not only on how they receive from God, but how they walk with Him daily.
At its core, this verse speaks to the tension between faith and legalism, between the Spirit and the law. Paul is writing to the churches in Galatia, which were falling back into the belief that obedience to the law could earn them righteousness or favor with God. He confronts this by pointing them back to their own experience. They had already received the Holy Spirit—not because they kept the law perfectly, but because they believed the message of Christ. The same Spirit that moved among them, the same miracles they witnessed, the same transformation they experienced, all of it began with faith.
This is a deeply humbling realization. God’s Spirit is not a reward for good behavior. It is a gift that comes by grace through faith. You don’t earn the presence of the Holy Spirit; you receive it when you believe. Think about how often we unknowingly fall into the trap of performance—trying to be good enough, spiritual enough, disciplined enough to earn God’s attention or blessings. Yet Paul reminds us that God’s power moves not because of our striving, but because of our trust.
Belief is the catalyst for divine activity in our lives. When you believe the message of the Gospel—that Jesus lived, died, and rose again for you—something supernatural happens. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit. He takes up residence in your heart. He becomes your Comforter, your Guide, your Teacher. And from that point forward, everything in your spiritual life flows not from the law, but from the Spirit.
This verse also opens the door to a powerful truth about miracles. Paul is asking, “Why do you think God continues to move among you?” The implication is that the same faith that received the Spirit is the same faith that activates the miraculous. If you want to see God move in your life, the key is not perfection—it’s faith. The Spirit responds to faith, not to religious effort. This should embolden our prayers. It should encourage us to believe for healing, breakthrough, provision, and transformation—not because we’ve earned it, but because we believe in the One who freely gives.

Faith is not a passive posture; it is an active reliance on God. When you believe what you’ve heard—when you believe the Good News—you’re saying, “I trust that God is who He says He is, and I believe He will do what He says He will do.” That kind of faith invites God to move. It makes room for the Holy Spirit to lead, to convict, to empower, and to bring glory to Jesus in and through your life.
We must also consider what “believing what you heard” really means. It’s not just intellectual agreement with doctrine. It’s hearing the Gospel with your heart and responding in faith. It’s letting the truth of God’s Word take root so deeply that it begins to shape your entire life—your thoughts, your habits, your relationships, your identity.
Many believers start with faith but drift into works. We forget how we began. We start to measure our worthiness by our spiritual track record instead of by the cross of Christ. Paul’s question is a call back to simplicity—to the simplicity of trusting Jesus completely. It’s a reminder that grace is not just the way into the kingdom; it is the way forward in the kingdom.
So consider your own walk with God. Are you trying to earn what He already gave you freely? Are you striving to be good enough for what can only be received by grace? Have you stopped believing that God can still work miracles in your life? Today’s verse is an invitation to return—to return to the place where you first believed. To hear the Gospel again and let it spark fresh faith in your heart.
God continues to give His Spirit. He continues to work miracles. Not because you followed every rule, but because you trust Him. The miracles you’re praying for, the peace you’re longing for, the breakthrough you need—they don’t come by formula. They come by faith.
Paul’s words in Galatians 3:5 are not just rhetorical; they are prophetic. They challenge us to examine the source of our spiritual confidence and to embrace a deeper, fuller trust in the God who delights in doing the impossible—not through our effort, but through our belief. Let this verse breathe fresh hope into your heart today. Let it strip away religious burden and ignite a Spirit-filled faith that welcomes the miraculous into the ordinary.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!

Matthew 6:19-21
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Here’s a 7-day journaling plan based on Galatians 3:5 — “So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?”
This plan is designed to help you reflect more deeply on the role of faith, grace, and the Spirit in your daily walk with God:
Day 1: Faith or Performance?
Reflection Prompt: Examine your walk with God. Are you living by faith, or are you trying to earn His favor through performance?
Journal Question: In what areas of my life am I trying to impress God or others instead of trusting in His grace?
Day 2: Remembering When You First Believed
Reflection Prompt: Think back to the moment you first believed the Gospel and encountered the Holy Spirit.
Journal Question: What changed in me when I first believed? How can I return to that same posture of simple, trusting faith?
Day 3: The Work of the Spirit
Reflection Prompt: Reflect on the ways the Holy Spirit has shown up in your life—through peace, wisdom, power, conviction, or comfort.
Journal Question: How have I experienced the Spirit of God recently? Am I open to seeing Him move again?
Day 4: The Power of Believing
Reflection Prompt: Faith is more than belief; it’s trust. Consider how believing “what you heard” can still transform you today.
Journal Question: What truth from Scripture have I heard but not truly believed with my heart? What would change if I embraced it fully?
Day 5: Miracles and Modern Faith
Reflection Prompt: Paul connects faith with miracles. Miracles may not always look like the supernatural—we must not overlook God's fingerprints.
Journal Question: Where have I seen God do the impossible—whether in relationships, provision, healing, or inner transformation?
Day 6: Letting Go of Legalism
Reflection Prompt: Legalism often creeps in subtly—through pride, fear, or comparison. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart.
Journal Question: Are there rules I’ve created or followed that make me feel worthy or unworthy before God? How is that affecting my faith?
Day 7: Living by Grace, Led by the Spirit
Reflection Prompt: The Christian life isn’t about trying harder but trusting deeper.
Journal Question: How can I walk more by the Spirit this week—responding to His promptings, trusting His timing, and resting in His grace?
Let this journaling journey deepen your understanding of what it means to live by faith. You are not called to earn what Jesus already paid for—you are invited to believe and receive. Let that truth lead you into a freer, Spirit-led week.

Closing thoughts as we pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Dear Beloved in Christ,
It's Faith That Opens the Door
“So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?” — Galatians 3:5
This reminds us that God’s Spirit isn’t earned by performance or perfection—but by faith.
It is through believing what we've heard—the Gospel of Jesus Christ—that we are filled, empowered, and surrounded by the miraculous work of God in our daily lives.
You don’t have to strive for what’s already been given.
The Holy Spirit lives within you, not because of what you’ve done, but because of who He is and what you believe.
Miracles flow not from trying harder, but from trusting deeper.
Today, believe again. Expect God’s Spirit to move—not because you’ve checked every box, but because you’ve heard the truth and chosen to believe it.
In Christ’s love 🙏🏻
