Greetings,
Rejoice—God Has Already Filled Today With His Grace
“The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.” — Psalm 118:24

Unpacking the Message of Psalm 118:24
Psalm 118:24 is one of the most joy-infused declarations in all of Scripture: “The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.” It’s a verse many people quote, but fewer people truly live. When you slow down and sit with the words, you begin to see that it is not merely a call to feel happy — it is an invitation to recognize God’s active work in your life right now, in this very moment. It centers your heart on the truth that God is not distant, not waiting until things improve, not waiting for you to be more worthy, more spiritual, or more put-together. He is working this very day. The verse pushes back against the temptation to delay joy until circumstances change. It invites you to step into a lifestyle of noticing God’s faithfulness in real time, not just in hindsight.
The phrase “The Lord has done it” shifts your focus from what you lack to what God has already accomplished. Many people spend their days thinking about what hasn’t happened yet — the prayer not yet answered, the breakthrough still out of reach, the mountain that hasn’t moved. But this verse reminds you to look around and become aware of what God has done. Every breath, every protection you didn’t see, every quiet provision, every open door, every closed door that saved you from harm — these are the things God has done. Your life is made up of countless mercies that rarely get noticed unless you deliberately slow down to look for them. Gratitude is not something that appears in your heart automatically; it’s cultivated by noticing the fingerprints of God on your day.
When the psalmist says “this very day,” he is speaking about a specific moment of deliverance, but the truth applies to every day you wake up. If God gave you breath this morning, He is not finished with you. If He allowed you to see another sunrise, then His purpose for your life is still unfolding. Every day the Lord gives you is a day that is filled with potential — potential for growth, healing, repentance, breakthrough, obedience, and love. God works both in the spectacular and in the subtle, and this verse invites you to live aware of both.
The call to “rejoice and be glad” is not a call to fake positivity or pretend that life isn’t difficult. Biblical rejoicing is deeper than emotional happiness; it is a spiritual posture. It means you choose to anchor your heart in the goodness of God no matter what the external circumstances are. You can rejoice even through tears. You can rejoice even when prayers feel unanswered. You can rejoice because your joy is rooted in who God is, not in how your life currently looks. Rejoicing is the soul saying, “God is faithful, and I trust Him today.” And when you lean into that posture, it shifts your atmosphere — worry loosens its grip, fear loses its power, and your spirit becomes more aligned with God’s heart.
This verse also speaks to the importance of living in the present moment. Many people get stuck living in the regret of yesterday or the anxiety of tomorrow. But the only place where you can meet God is in the present. He gives daily bread, daily mercy, daily grace. Jesus taught us to pray for “this day” our daily bread. Lamentations says His mercies are “new every morning.” God’s provision is shaped for the day you’re in, not the one you’ve already lived or the one you haven’t reached yet. When you dwell in today, you become more aware of His presence. When you fixate on tomorrow, you often miss what God is doing right in front of you.

Rejoicing today is also a matter of spiritual obedience. It is an act of trust. By choosing to rejoice, you are saying, “I believe God is working beneath the surface. I believe He is guiding my steps. I believe He is faithful, even when I can’t see the outcome.” That kind of joy doesn’t come from circumstances — it comes from confidence in God’s character. And the more you practice this, the stronger your spiritual resilience becomes. You begin to face challenges with a steadier heart because you know the God who saw you through yesterday is the same God walking with you today.
Another piece of this verse worth reflecting on is that rejoicing is contagious. When you live with the awareness that God is doing something today, people see it in you. They notice the peace you carry, the hope you radiate, the gratitude that colors your perspective. In a world filled with negativity, complaining, and anxiety about the future, a believer who lives with daily rejoicing stands out. Your joy becomes a testimony. It points people toward Jesus without you ever having to force anything. The way you respond to life becomes a living sermon.
This verse also calls you to consider what you are magnifying in your life. Every day, you are either magnifying problems or magnifying God. You can’t magnify both at the same time. Rejoicing doesn’t ignore problems; it simply chooses to magnify God above them. When you magnify God, your problems don’t disappear, but they fall into proper perspective. They begin to look small next to the One who holds the universe in His hands. And that shift in perspective is often the very thing that ushers in breakthrough.
Finally, this verse invites you to build a spiritual habit — a lifestyle of pausing each day to recognize what the Lord has done. Whether through prayer, journaling, worship, or simply taking a moment of stillness, this rhythm shapes your inner life. It keeps your heart soft. It keeps your mind clear. It keeps your spirit aligned with God’s purposes. Joy isn’t just an emotion — it’s a discipline. Gratitude isn’t just a feeling — it’s a practice. And when you commit to this practice, you begin to live with a deeper sense of wonder and expectation. You start looking for God’s activity. You start noticing His grace. You start experiencing His presence not as an idea, but as a daily reality.
Psalm 118:24 is far more than a cheerful verse — it is a daily invitation. God is working today. God is present today. God is faithful today. And today, no matter what it holds, is a day worth rejoicing in because the Lord is in it.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!

Here is our 7-day journaling plan built directly from the heart of the reflection—simple, deep, and perfectly aligned with Psalm 118:24 -
“The Lord has done it this very day;let us rejoice today and be glad.”
🌅 Daily Opening Prayer – Before Journaling
“Lord, thank You for the gift of this very day. As I come before You, quiet my heart and open my eyes to see Your goodness at work in my life. Help me to notice what I would normally overlook, to rejoice in what You are doing right now, and to receive this day with gratitude and gladness. Meet me in these moments and guide my reflection. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Day 1 – Seeing What God Has Already Done
Reflect on the phrase “The Lord has done it.”Write about the ways God has moved in your life that you may have overlooked. Consider blessings, protection, provision, answered prayers, and even closed doors. Ask yourself: What has the Lord already done in my life that deserves my gratitude today?
Day 2 – Living in “This Very Day”
Focus on the present moment.Journal about where your thoughts typically live—past regrets, future worries, or today. Reflect on how God is inviting you to meet Him in the present. How can you become more aware of His presence in this day?
Day 3 – Choosing Joy on Purpose
“Let us rejoice” is a choice, not a feeling.Write about what it means for you to choose joy even when emotions or circumstances don’t align. Explore the difference between joy and happiness. How can you anchor your joy in God’s character rather than in your situation?
Day 4 – Rejoicing in the Middle of Hard Seasons
Journal honestly about an area of difficulty in your life. Then, reflect on how you might rejoice in God within that struggle—not by denying the hardship, but by acknowledging His faithfulness. Where do you see signs of His presence, strength, or comfort?
Day 5 – Training Your Eyes to Magnify God
What you magnify grows.Write about the things you’ve been magnifying lately—problems, fears, frustrations, or God. Explore how shifting your focus changes your heart. Ask yourself: How can I practically magnify God today?
Day 6 – Rejoicing as a Spiritual Discipline
Reflect on joy and gratitude as habits that must be cultivated.Write about one or two daily practices you can adopt—morning praise, gratitude lists, evening reflection—that will help you live out this verse consistently. What rhythms help your heart stay centered in God’s goodness?
Day 7 – Seeing Today as a Gift
Meditate on the idea that the simple gift of today means God is not done with you.Journal about the purpose, possibility, and hope embedded in each new day. Ask: What might God want to do in me or through me today? How can I step into this day with expectation and gladness?
🌄 Daily Closing Prayer – After Journaling
“Father, thank You for what You’ve shown me today. Anchor my heart in Your goodness and help me walk through this day with joy, expectation, and trust. Teach me to rejoice in You no matter what comes, knowing You are with me and You are at work. I place the rest of this day in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Closing thoughts as we pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Dear Beloved in Christ,
Rejoice—God Has Already Filled Today With His Grace
Some days come with joy, others with burdens—but Psalm 118:24 calls us to a powerful truth about every day we are given:
“The Lord has done it this very day;let us rejoice today and be glad.” — Psalm 118:24
This verse is more than a gentle encouragement; it’s a declaration. God has already moved on your behalf today. He has already filled this day with purpose, grace, and mercy. He has already given you breath, strength, and access to His presence.
He has already gone ahead of you, preparing what you cannot yet see.
Rejoicing isn’t pretending everything is perfect. It’s choosing to recognize the God who is perfect—present, faithful, and actively working in your life right now.
When you rejoice, you’re not ignoring reality. You’re aligning your heart with His reality.
Today is not random. Today is not wasted. Today is not unattended by Heaven.
The Lord has done it. This very day.
So step into this day with gratitude. Lift your eyes. Open your heart. Let joy rise—not because everything is easy, but because God is here.
Rejoice, friend. God has already made this day holy 🙏🏻
