Greetings,
All Things Belong to Him
"For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." — Romans 11:36

Unpacking the Message of Verse Romans 11:36
Romans 11:36 is a powerful declaration of God’s sovereignty, emphasizing that everything originates from Him, is sustained through Him, and ultimately exists for His glory. This verse is a culmination of Paul’s deep theological reflection on God’s wisdom and grace throughout Romans 9-11, leading him to worship. It reminds us that nothing in creation is independent of God—He is the source, sustainer, and purpose of all things.
The phrase “For from him” establishes God as the Creator of all things. Everything in existence, from the vast galaxies to the smallest details of life, has its origin in Him. Genesis 1:1 confirms this, saying, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” This truth should instill humility in us, recognizing that our very breath is a gift from God. It also points to the importance of stewardship—since all things come from Him, we are merely caretakers of His creation, called to use our time, talents, and resources in alignment with His will.

The next part, “and through him,” reveals that God is not only the Creator but also the sustainer of all things. Colossians 1:17 echoes this by stating, “He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Every moment, every function of the universe, is under His control. This should bring comfort, especially in times of uncertainty. Knowing that God is actively upholding all things assures us that nothing is random or outside of His authority. Even the trials we face are under His sovereign hand, and He works through them to shape our character and deepen our faith.
The final part, “and for him are all things,” shifts our focus to God’s ultimate purpose. Everything in existence is designed to bring Him glory. Isaiah 43:7 states, “Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Our lives are not about self-fulfillment but about reflecting His greatness. This challenges us to ask: Are we living for His glory or our own? The way we use our time, how we treat others, and even our approach to daily work should be directed toward glorifying Him.

Paul concludes this verse with, “To him be the glory forever! Amen.” This is not just a statement but an invitation to worship. When we grasp that all things originate from God, are sustained by Him, and exist for His purposes, our natural response should be awe and adoration. Worship is not just about singing songs on Sunday; it is about living a life that honors Him daily. Whether in joy or suffering, our purpose remains the same—to glorify God.
Romans 11:36 ultimately calls us to a God-centered perspective. In a world that often encourages self-reliance and personal ambition, this verse redirects our hearts to the reality that life is not about us but about Him. It reminds us that everything we have is a gift, everything we do is possible because of His strength, and our ultimate goal should be to reflect His glory. By embracing this truth, we find deeper purpose, unshakable peace, and a life that aligns with the eternal plan of God.

Closing thoughts as I pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Everything we have, everything we are, and everything we do flows from the Lord.
He is the source, the sustainer, and the purpose of all creation.
When we recognize that our lives are meant to glorify Him, we find true fulfillment.
Whatever you face today, remember—it is all in His hands.
Live for His glory, and He will guide your steps.
In Christ 🙏🏻
