Greetings,
A Prayer for Restoration
"Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved." — Psalm 80:19

Unpacking the Message of Psalm 80:19
Let’s take some time to really sit with the words of Psalm 80:19: “Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.” This verse carries with it the cry of a people who know they cannot fix themselves, who understand that true salvation, true renewal, and true hope come from the presence of God. At its core, it is a prayer for restoration, for the radiance of God’s face, and for the saving grace that only He can provide.
When the psalmist says, “Restore us,” he acknowledges something important—that life, left to our own choices and struggles, has a way of breaking us down. We all know seasons where we feel spiritually drained, emotionally weary, or burdened by the weight of our mistakes. To pray for restoration is to recognize that we’ve drifted or grown weak, but it’s also to believe that God has the power to renew us completely. Restoration is not just about being put back the way we were; it’s about being made new, often stronger, wiser, and more faithful than before. Think about a piece of furniture that’s been weathered by time—when it’s restored, it doesn’t just look like it did once, it often shines even brighter, with the care of the one who restored it. That is what God does with us.
The verse continues, “Lord God Almighty.” This name carries immense weight. The psalmist appeals not to a distant deity, but to the Lord who holds ultimate power, authority, and sovereignty over heaven and earth. When we ask for restoration, we aren’t hoping that a frail or limited god might help us. We are turning to the One who spoke creation into being, the One who sustains every breath, the One whose strength is limitless. By calling Him “Lord God Almighty,” the psalmist acknowledges both God’s intimacy with His people and His unmatched power to save. It’s a reminder to us that when we pray, we aren’t asking someone incapable of helping. We are appealing to the very source of life, the Almighty who is always able.
Then we hear, “make your face shine on us.” This is a beautiful image. Throughout Scripture, the shining face of God is a symbol of His favor, His blessing, and His nearness. Think of the priestly blessing in Numbers 6, where Aaron is instructed to say, “The Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you.” When God’s face shines upon us, it’s as though His light dispels the shadows in our lives. It’s the sense that we are seen, loved, and held by His presence. We often go through life craving affirmation, attention, or love from other people, but here we’re reminded that the truest satisfaction comes when God Himself turns His radiant face toward us. To ask God to let His face shine on us is to say, “Lord, let me walk in Your presence. Let me live in the warmth of Your love. Let me experience the joy of Your nearness.”
Finally, the verse concludes with, “that we may be saved.” Here we see the end goal: salvation. But salvation in Scripture is not only about eternal life after death—it is also about rescue, deliverance, and healing here and now. The psalmist knew what it was like to feel surrounded by trouble, by enemies, by despair. His cry for salvation was both immediate and eternal. And in our lives, salvation means God breaking through in moments when we feel overwhelmed, it means Him delivering us from habits and sins that bind us, it means Him giving us peace in the midst of turmoil, and yes, it ultimately means eternal life through Christ.

Now, consider how these words apply to our everyday lives. Maybe you are in a season where you feel spiritually dry, like your prayers don’t rise above the ceiling. Psalm 80:19 gives you the language for that season: “Restore me, Lord.” Maybe you’ve been striving for the approval of people, pouring out energy to shine in the eyes of others. This verse reminds you that what you really need is the shining face of God, the only approval that truly satisfies. Or maybe you’ve been walking through something painful, something that feels beyond your ability to fix. This verse gives you hope that God is not only able but willing to save, to restore, and to renew.
What’s remarkable about this prayer is that it can be repeated at any stage of life. In moments of joy, it becomes a prayer of gratitude: “Lord, thank You for shining Your face on me.” In times of failure, it becomes a prayer of repentance: “Lord, restore me where I have fallen short.” In times of trial, it becomes a cry for deliverance: “Lord, save me from what I cannot carry.” It’s a verse we can return to again and again, because at its heart, it reminds us of who God is—gracious, powerful, near, and saving.
This verse also teaches us the rhythm of dependence. It reminds us that restoration, blessing, and salvation aren’t things we earn or achieve—they’re gifts we receive when we humble ourselves before God. It’s not about working harder or fixing ourselves; it’s about lifting our eyes to the One whose face shines upon His children. And when we learn to live in that posture of dependence, we discover a peace and a confidence that nothing in this world can shake.
So today, let this be your prayer: “Restore me, Lord God Almighty. Let Your face shine on me, that I may be saved.” And as you pray it, trust that He hears you, trust that He delights to restore you, and trust that His light will shine into even the darkest corners of your life.

A prominent verse related to generational stewardship of money is Proverbs 13:22, which states, "A good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children."
This verse suggests that part of being a good steward of wealth includes planning for the future and ensuring the well-being of future generations of kingdom builders.
This verse is often cited in discussions about financial planning and legacy, it's important to remember that the Bible also emphasizes the importance of giving to those in need and being content with what one has, rather than accumulating wealth for its own sake.
The focus should be on using resources wisely and for God's glory first and foremost, NOT simply leaving a large sum of generational money.
My mission is to serve followers of Christ through helping them become builders of His kingdom. Trading is NOT a get rich scheme, rather it's a skillset that when applied from the perspective of stewarding God's wealth and will first, proves to be incredibly fulfilling!

Here’s our 7-day journaling plan based on Psalm 80:19 -
"Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved."
Opening Prayer (Before Journaling)
“Lord God Almighty, I come before You with an open heart. Restore me by Your Spirit, shine Your face upon me, and guide my thoughts as I write. Let Your truth shape my heart and draw me closer to You. Amen.”
Day 1 – A Cry for Restoration
Focus: What areas of your life feel broken, dry, or in need of God’s restoration?
Prompt: Write honestly about the places in your life where you are asking God to restore you. How would restoration look if His hand touched those areas?
Prayer Starter: “Lord, show me where I need Your restoring power and give me courage to invite You in.”
Day 2 – God’s Face Shining on You
Focus: God’s presence is like light breaking through darkness.
Prompt: Reflect on times you have felt God’s presence in your life. How did His “face shining” on you change your outlook or situation?
Prayer Starter: “Father, let Your presence shine brightly over me today, so I may walk in Your light.”
Day 3 – Saved by His Grace
Focus: Salvation is not earned; it’s received.
Prompt: Write about what being “saved” means to you personally. How has God’s saving grace shaped your life so far, and how does it give you hope for the future?
Prayer Starter: “Jesus, thank You for saving me. Teach me to rest in the gift of Your grace.”
Day 4 – The God of Restoration Throughout Scripture
Focus: God is faithful to restore His people.
Prompt: Recall a biblical story where God restored someone or a nation (e.g., Job, Israel, the prodigal son). How does that story encourage you to trust Him with your own restoration?
Prayer Starter: “God Almighty, thank You for showing Your restoring power throughout history. Do the same in my life today.”
Day 5 – Personal Repentance and Renewal
Focus: Restoration often begins with repentance and turning back to God.
Prompt: Journal about areas where you may need to repent, surrender, or turn back fully to God. What step can you take today to realign with His will?
Prayer Starter: “Lord, I turn back to You. Forgive me and restore me into the fullness of Your will.”
Day 6 – Restoration for Others
Focus: God restores not only individuals but also communities and nations.
Prompt: Write about people, families, or even nations you feel led to pray for restoration over. What would it look like for God’s face to shine on them?
Prayer Starter: “Lord, bring restoration to those I lift before You today. Shine Your face on them as You shine on me.”
Day 7 – Living Restored
Focus: Walking in God’s restoration daily.
Prompt: Imagine your life fully restored and whole in God’s hands. What would it look like to live each day aware of His light and salvation? Write a declaration of faith about living as one restored by God.
Prayer Starter: “Father, thank You for restoring me and making me whole. Help me live each day as Your restored child.”
Closing Prayer (After Journaling)
“Father, thank You for meeting me here in this time of reflection. Seal the words You have spoken to my heart, and let Your restoring power carry me through this day. Shine on me, Lord, and help me live as one who has been saved by Your grace. Amen.”

Closing thoughts as we pray for those reading or hearing this verse today...
Dear Beloved in Christ,
A Prayer for Restoration
There are times when life feels heavy, when our hearts long for renewal and hope.
In those moments, we can lift our eyes to the Lord with the same cry the psalmist once prayed: "Restore us, Lord God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved." — Psalm 80:19
God’s restoration is not just about fixing what’s broken—it’s about bringing us back into His presence, where His light shines on us with love and mercy. No matter what you’re facing, His power is greater, His grace is deeper, and His face is turned toward you.
Take comfort today: the One who saves is also the One who restores.
Standing with you in His light 🙏🏻
